Hector Nazario, M.D., is a multi board certified physician specializing in transplant hepatology and gastroenterology. He treats patients with various forms of liver disease, liver transplantation as well as numerous gastrointestinal conditions.
As the Chief of Division of Hepatology at Methodist Dallas Medical Center, Dr. Nazario leads our team of hepatologists and associated care providers in developing treatment pathways and policies that provide optimal patient care.
With over 23 years of experience, Dr. Nazario has established himself as one of the area’s leading hepatologists. He is active in clinical research and teaching, seeing both as a way to continually bring the highest level of knowledge and care to his patients.
He is board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in gastroenterology and transplant hepatology.

Outside of medicine, Dr. Nazario enjoys cycling throughout Dallas and Tarrant County as well as live music and sports events. He also loves spending time with his family and traveling.
Dr. Nazario’s approach to treatment is "providing the patient with knowledge about their medical problems is always the first line of treatment. A well-informed patient is an active member of the team approach needed to tackle diseases or any medical condition."
