Taylor’s Gift Partners with The Liver Institute for the Inaugural Outlive Yourself Awards
This year, The Liver Institute at Methodist Dallas had the pleasure of sponsoring the first Outlive Yourself Awards held by Taylor’s Gift. In addition to celebrating the achievements of the Taylor’s Gift Foundation, this wildly successful event honored individuals within our community who have gone the extra mile to give back to others and who truly embody the “Outlive Yourself” spirit.
Taylor’s Gift selected two honorees for the 2015 Outlive Yourself Awards:
- Karen Cuskey consistently uses her business skills and extensive network to make a difference for not only individuals, but also charities and clients.
- O.H. Frazier, M.D., Chief of Transplant Service at CHI Baylor St. Luke’s Medical Center, is actively involved in cardiac and transplant programs at the Center for Cardiac Support and the Texas Heart Institute.
Founded in 2010, the Taylor’s Gift Foundation began with the purpose of increasing the number of registered organ donors. Since then, it has expanded its reach by providing financial assistance to the families of donor recipients, housing to pre- and post-transplant patients, scholarships to students exemplifying the “Outlive Yourself” spirit, and more. Taylor’s Gift strives to increase knowledge about as well as put a positive focus on organ donation. Many people who want to be organ donors do not take all of the necessary steps to ensure their wishes will be carried out. The Liver Institute, like Taylor’s Gift, is working to ensure the public is educated on the proper way to register as an organ donor.
Through the 2015 Outlive Yourself Awards, Taylor’s Gift was able to exceed their fundraising goal, collecting over $190,000 to aid their mission to Regift Life, Renew Health and Restore Families. Find out how you can get involved and support the Taylor’s Gift Foundation today!
